From Sunny Ways to Grim Days

Monday morning, the honourable and logical action would have been for Justin Trudeau to call an election and allow the citizens of Canada to choose the direction of our country for the next four years. However, honour and logic do not appear to be among Trudeau's strong points.
Over the past decade, Canada has faced decline, darkness, and destruction under his leadership. What began as promises of "sunny ways" quickly devolved into grim days, leaving Canadians to endure what can only be described as a lost decade.
Listening to his resignation speech, I couldn’t help but wonder: what universe or alternate reality does Trudeau inhabit? He claimed his government "strengthened the economy, cut taxes, brought more people into the workforce, and reduced poverty rates."
The truth, however, paints a very different picture:
Record-breaking food bank usage
Skyrocketing housing prices
A broken immigration system
Rising hate crimes, violence, and corruption
Draconian government regulations
Massive government waste and inefficiency
A bloated, unsustainable bureaucracy
Out-of-control drug and opioid use
A devastated Canadian military
Canada’s diminished reputation on the world stage
Despite stepping down as leader of the Liberal Party, Trudeau will remain Prime Minister until a new leader is chosen. Unfortunately, the same individuals who stood by him for the past decade remain in power, seemingly more concerned about their own political futures than the well-being of Canadians.
Parliament has been paralyzed for months, largely due to Trudeau's refusal to release unredacted documents to the RCMP regarding the $400 million (that we know of) corruption scandal tied to the so-called "green slush fund." Now, Parliament will remain shut down until March 24th. Meanwhile, a new U.S. administration will take power in two weeks, threatening a 25% tariff on Canadian goods. Liberal malfeasance and incompetence have left Canada in a perilous position.
What Canada Needs Now
Our country desperately needs a federal election. It’s time for competence and common sense to return to Ottawa. We need Pierre Poilievre and a team of dedicated, hardworking Canadians who will fight for prosperity, safe streets, and the promise of the Canadian dream.
Together, we can turn this ship around. As patriotic, Canada-loving Conservatives, we must keep the pressure on. Make sure your membership in the Conservative Party of Canada is current. A nomination meeting for Thunder Bay–Rainy River will be announced soon. When it is, I urge you to attend and vote. Let’s ensure that Thunder Bay–Rainy River has a strong voice at the table in a new majority Conservative government.
Let’s "BRING IT HOME!"
Craig Hussey
Nomination Candidate for MP, Thunder Bay - Rainy River
