Quitting is not an option...

One of the greatest statesmen in the history of Great Britain, if not the world, Winston Churchill once said…
“Never give up on something you cannot go a day without thinking about.”
I am not ready to give up on this great nation of Canada—its people, its future, and all the opportunity, resources, and riches it holds.
We have been, and currently are, in a period of decline—economically, socially, in our justice system, in our relationships with other nations, and in many other ways. However, we can turn it around and quickly begin the climb back out of the hole that a decade of Liberal rule has left us in. It will be hard work and painful at times, but we must, for the future of our nation, our children, and their children—WE MUST!
That is why I am excited to announce that I will be seeking the Conservative Party of Canada nomination to run as a candidate in my home district of Thunder Bay–Rainy River in the next federal election.
My wife Glenda and I live in Neebing on the south side of Thunder Bay. Two of our children and their spouses live in Thunder Bay. Five grandchildren, with another on the way, live here. This is home, and the place we dearly love.
We operate our business, attend church, and have a wide circle of friends and acquaintances throughout this region from east to west.
I want to see Canada prosper, and I want to see the NW Ontario region prosper. So much of the decision-making that takes place in Ottawa affects daily life in our home cities and towns.
When resource development is regulated to the point that it takes 20 years for an approval—and in many cases, no approval at all.
When our justice system fails us, allowing crime to run rampant on our streets.
When ideology is placed ahead of human care and compassion.
When out-of-control overseas spending, wasteful spending, and corruption get in the way of much-needed infrastructure projects at home.
When our military is languishing on the back burner with inferior and lacking equipment, supplies, and even vision from its leadership to carry out its mandate.
When inept politicians make promises that are never carried through on important matters like international trade and relationships.
When these things, and much more, happen—perpetuated around the cabinet decision table in Ottawa—we all suffer.
The good news is, it does not have to be this way! It will take clear-eyed vision, solid principles, and backbone to stand up to Ottawa. I believe the Conservative Party of Canada has the caliber of men and women to get the job done. I want to be part of the team that will turn this country around.
Should my nomination application be approved, and should the good people in this riding choose me as their candidate, then together we will work tirelessly to win this riding, and Ottawa will know that Thunder Bay–Rainy River is alive and a place to be reckoned with in Ontario.
We have so much in this region to offer its people, the rest of Canada, and the world.
I humbly ask for your support in this endeavor and look forward to meeting, chatting, and hearing your ideas, concerns, and solutions in the days ahead.
Let’s bring principled Conservative leadership back to the wheelhouse of this great nation in Ottawa as, together, we chart a new and prosperous course for Canada.
God bless you all, and God bless this great nation of Canada!
We would love to hear from you.
