Securing Canada’s Sovereignty: A Call to Action

For many years, we have taken for granted the sovereignty of our beloved nation. For many Canadians, this has scarcely crossed their minds. However, the time has come to face the pressing need to secure our sovereignty as a nation—or risk enduring consequences we cannot afford.

As Richard Perle wisely stated:"National sovereignty is an obligation as well as an entitlement. A government that will not perform the role of a government forfeits the rights of a government."

The Federal Government’s First Priority: National Security

National security should be the foremost priority of Canada’s federal government. This encompasses a wide range of critical issues, including:

  • Protecting our borders

  • Counter-terrorism efforts

  • Cybersecurity

  • Food security

  • Critical infrastructure protection

  • Securing our natural resources

  • Transportation security

Unfortunately, we have endured a decade of governance mired in:

  • Social issues dominating the agenda

  • Breathtaking corruption

  • Woke ideology

  • World Economic Forum (WEF) agendas

  • Outlandish economic policies

A Military in Decline

All the while, nearly $1 billion a year has been cut from our already decimated military. With approximately half of our equipment unfit for service, recruitment and retention at all-time lows, rebuilding Canada’s armed forces will be a monumental task—one that will take at least a decade to complete.

Border Vulnerabilities and Domestic Strain

Our national borders have been thrown wide open, allowing millions of individuals—many unvetted and unknown—to enter our country. This has left us vulnerable and has created chaos in:

  • Housing availability

  • Healthcare systems

  • Job markets

  • Law enforcement operations

Natural Resources: A Squandered Opportunity

At a time when the world is asking for Canada’s natural resources—such as LNG, petrochemicals, and critical minerals—our government has effectively hung a "closed" sign on the door.

Bills like C-69 have obstructed industrial developments such as pipelines, mining projects, and other large-scale infrastructure. Instead of embracing our resources, we’ve increased taxes and enacted crippling, nation-killing over-regulation.

The Untapped Potential of the Arctic

One of the most resource-rich regions in the world lies within our borders—north of the Arctic Circle. Having spent much time there in my earlier days, I know the region to be both rugged and breathtakingly beautiful. Yet, once again, our government has neglected this critical area.

We can do better. We must do better.

A Call for Leadership

National sovereignty is our obligation, and we must elect a government in Ottawa that takes this responsibility seriously. The rumblings from our southern neighbours will only grow louder if we fail to act—let alone the threats posed by bad actors from across the globe.

A decade of inept, weak, feckless, and corrupt leadership has brought us to this precarious position. Now, more than ever, Canada needs capable, strong, competent, and ethical leadership to restore our strength and respect on the world stage.

The Conservative Plan for Canada

Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party of Canada are prepared to guide our nation back on course, revive the Canadian dream, and fulfill the obligation of securing our national sovereignty.
